a littlebit of this, a littlebit of that…

One of my passions – cycling.

When it comes to racing I normally use my road bike, a Stevens Izoard Lite, equipped with a Shimano Dura Ace group. My old mountainbike, a pretty old Cannondale with a Shimano XT group, was just replaced by a new Scott Scale 29er. And what can I tell you – 29ers simply rock!!!

The bicycle I use most often though, is my Fixie – a Felt Brougham, which I ride fixed with a 47:17 ratio. I ride to work every day with the Fixie and once in a while I even race with this bike – mainly 12h “last man standing” races.

And then there are two very old bicycles, which are my are both “my precious”

It’s a Lady’s “Waffenrad” from Steyr Daimler Puch, which dates from the 1940ies and a Gents Waffenrad from the 1950ies.  Both are fully functional and get a couple of kilometers each year.

Especially the lady’s bicycle is a gemstone, as almost everything is still original and in pretty good condition.

So it was worth waiting and looking around for over two years to find the two Waffenräder.
